Oaks on the Hill – SOLD
Oaks on the Hill (2016). There are some paintings that just flow out based on feeling and emotion. Simply said – these paintings are abstract expressions of reality. Oaks on the Hill (24″ x 30″) is such a piece and now hangs, lives and breathes in Thousand Oaks California — the “very” perfect place for this piece to be.
This painting was inspired by my deep feelings of wonderment and awe of the Southern California Oaks. Their endurance through drought, intense heat, freezing winter nights and the onslaught of overwhelming rain storms, has never seized to amaze me. This painting depicts a cluster of oaks, bracing themselves against the movement, and flow, of the landscape, wind and sunshine around them.
