Made In Pescadero

There are moments when life moves into special alignment with your dreams and reality; just when you are thinking that everything seems impossible.   These moments come into our lives in unexpected places, touching you gently on your shoulder, nudging slightly to make you turn around and look.   They feel like glimpses of magic and mystery, and if you don’t pay attention – poof – they are gone.

For me, being represented at “Made In Pescadero”, was one of these moments.  I was in an all-day gallery showing, bad weather storming outside, few people showing any interest in art, let alone large paintings.   I was smiling my best, hoping to keep the energy going, and yet despairing inside, wondering whether all this work I was doing was completely in vain.  And then things started to happen.

A person who had been in earlier in day was back.  She was standing in front of my paintings and asking whether she could take a couple of photos?  She had a client that may be interested.  I agreed and also gave her my card.  Well – so what!  But then on a break I went outside for some fresh air.  The wind was howling, whipping my dress and coat against me, and I stood staring out over the ocean.   And there she was again, also staring out to sea.  She came up to me and started talking to me about my work, how it was perfect for a place she represented as an interior designer.  And this time she gave me her card.  And that became the start…

Now I am being showcased at “Made In Pescadero”. Come and see!  It is a wonderful eclectic place of high quality art mixed in with hand made furnishings.  I am so thrilled and excited.  And the really cool thing for me is that the store is located on the old coastal Stage Coach route  – which seems just to add to the magic, wonderfulness of it all.

Feels Like Summer

    Good morning
In a few months I will be having some beautiful Monterey cypress wood that will be great for wood carving, spinning and special art projects. I’m talking about the wood that comprises the branching structure of a very old 90’ + Monterey cypress tree that has been growing on my property for many years. I would like it to be repurposed as it is a part of my property’s history and is a special tree.
I wanted to offer it free to any local artists that are interested and able to pick it up from my San Francisco location.
    Thank you
