Half Moon Bay Summer – SOLD
Half Moon Bay Summer (2016) – SOLD
Oil on Canvas Abstract Landscape 48″ x 60″ inches on gallery stretched canvas by artist Marianne Schovsbo.
Inspired by the summers of the Central Californian Coast between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay.
Summers on the coastal bluffs are a time of year when the grasses turn to a golden yellow, orange and red, and low clouds hang across the sky. The grasses blow and bend in the wake of the wind and the fresh salt air from the ocean sweeps in and across you, as you stand looking out onto the horizon. The landscape gives a feeling of endless vision and breathing space – no clutter, no city noise – just eye stretching views; and then – as you stand and look out… sunbeams suddenly sneak through the low clouds, lighting up pockets of the sky and the ocean surface.
