Uncomplicated – Sold

Uncomplicated (2019) – this original painting of mine was sold at an art showing in May of this year.  I was, unfortunately, not present at the time of the sale – so not sure where this painting now hangs and breathes.  Life has been so busy these past few months that it is just now that I am having a moment to update my website with this awesome news.

This painting is 36 inches by 36 inches – wrapped onto the edges of the painting.  It is painted in the abstract expressive style, playing with perspective and emotion to depict the California Central Coast landscape.  It is inspired by the views you glimpse as you head to the beach; the surf is rolling in; the heavy marine clouds hanging on the horizon as the fresh wind whips you face.  Beach time!

If you find this painting inspiring – I’d love to hear from you!

I like your choice of pink for the sky! To me it’s an emotional representation of a clear blue sky with wispy and some clouds and it works wonders! I also like how you turned the lines upon themselves as an expressive rendering of the currents of air in the sky. The round shapes do feel more solid and it’s good you included them. Are they meant to stand in for clumps of vegetation?

It’s a mix of land and sea and playing with perspective as well as the boundaries of where water and land meet. When we are in a place that is beautiful or in any place for that matter- the landscape and surroundings create a competition with our senses. I’m always trying to display that – the depths and movement we experience full force or choose to ignore – hope that makes sense.
